Main accommodation - Northern Region

The lodge: The lodge is about 4 km from the Trans Caprivi Highway and is situated on one of the islands of the Kwando River. There are 10 double reed and thatch bungalows with en-suite facilities. A thatched restaurant/ bar and swimming pool, overlooking the vast floodplains, serves excellent meals and ice cold drinks.

The campsite: The campsite is 2 km from the Trans-Caprivi Highway. It is situated along the riverfront and has two ablution blocks with hot water. Campers are welcome to visit the lodge, 2 km away, to enjoy a drink or meal at the restaurant, to swim or  participate in any of the activities.

An unforgettable sundowner boat cruise on the Kwando Mukhwai
Guided game walks, and spectacular bird watching.
A visit to a local village.
A visit to Chief Mayuni (only on special request and by pre-arrangement).

How to find Mazambala:
Self-drive: Mazambala turn-off from the Trans-Caprivi Highway is approximately 3 km east of the police checkpoint on the Kwando River or 4 km west of Kongola Service Station. The campsite is 2 km and the lodge is 4 km from the main road and is also accessible by a sedan car.

Fly-in: Air Namibia offers daily flights (except Saturdays) to Katima Mulilo. Chartered flights can be arranged to and from Immelman Airfield, which is 10 km from Mazambala. Air Botswana has a daily flight from Johannesburg to Kasane (Botswana). Nationwide Airlines has daily flights from Johannesburg to Livingstone (Zambia).

Bus: The Main Liner bus service travels between Windhoek and Victoria Falls with a stop at Kongola twice a week.
